One of the lifelong learning skills that I grasped from this module was Reflection. Reflection is when you go through your completed exams and feedbacks and understand where you went wrong. Understanding your errors is the easiest way to avoid them in the past. After learning how important Reflection is in creating my personal learning style, I never let a feedback go to waste. If feedback isn’t provided, I have started to contact the grader into getting a feedback. If mastered this skill, any person won’t make a mistake more than once or twice.
The artifact for this blog is taken from my CPA exam. I passed the exam but once it was completed, I received the feedback for it. After reviewing the feedback, I realized that I made certain errors regarding the after-tax amount and before-tax amount. I then went and re-read and studied the material a couple times until I understood my mistakes.
I choose this artifact because this is the most recent example where I was not provided with feedback but after discussions with the grader, I was provided with one. This is just one part of the feedback, there are 6 different sections of the exam where I received a feedback for. After reviewing them all, I had a few questions about some techniques. One of the graders from CPA was humble enough to join me on a video call to answer my questions. I also purchased extra sample papers after studying the topics where I originally made errors. After solving 2 sample papers, I understood my mistakes properly. Moving forward, I don’t think I will make the same errors again.
