Based on module 2, Self- directed learning is one of the characters of a lifelong learner and for you to achieve this skill one must know what needs to be learnt. You should be able to diagnose the learning needs the goals and resources required and also be able to monitor and reflect on your progress. This allows you to take charge and to adapt to change. There are 4 phases of the self-directed learning cycle which include: Planning, Implementing, Monitoring and Evaluating. I will apply these phases on my artifact below.

I think based on my learning strategies, I follow the self-directed skill at level because I am constantly planning and implementing new ways to solve a problem like for example learning how to drive. I took feedback from my driving instructors and planned my sessions to implement the skills I learn.

The artifact I have chosen for this post are my driving skills and posting a picture of me driving. During this summer I learnt how to drive, and I believe I have learnt how to drive through self-directed learning. This is because I initially was given instructions by my friends and the instructors at the driving school but because I kept practicing and planning my sessions, implementing those strategies during my learning hours and monitoring and evaluating my progress helped me change how I drive and learnt the necessary techniques to drive safely and obtain my driver’s permit.

The process of practicing and implementing all the feedback demonstrates my attitude related to the lifelong learning skill and the drivers permit demonstrate the knowledge and skills I have acquired throughout the four to five months that I have been learning how to drive.
